A Quick Guide to Dental Trauma

Dental trauma usually occurs in 2 different age groups.

The first age group of dental accidents may occur is when the child is 2-3 years old. The reason why this age group is common is because 2-3 year olds are learning to walk (and, doing their best to not have mommy or daddy help them). Consequently, 2-3year olds are more likely to chip their front tooth.

The second group is usually in boys ages 9-10 years old because of their active playing and sports involvement.

Do you know what to do if your child has injured his or her teeth after a fall or sports accident?

Here is a great cheat sheet for you to print out and place on your refridgerator as a reference because you will never know when these dental accidents will happen! Please keep in mind that treatment for a baby tooth is very different from an adult tooth. If you have any questions regarding this cheat sheet, please don't hesitate to call Safari Children's Dentist. We will be more than happy to answer all your pediatric dental trauma questions.
